Our Ideas Of Beauty
What is beauty? What is taste and fashion? Is beauty something to be studied calmly and sensibly or is it something seriously engaging? As the ideas of fashion and beauty cross race and financial status, it all begins to blend together.
Yet what is considered to be beautiful and fashionable doesn't exist in an abyss. It both manipulates and is manipulated by our ever-changing environment. Moreover, because fashion is meant to be worn, our perception of what makes us beautiful changes along with the latest trends.
Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and colors. Real people are not airbrushed or wafer thin. People are recognizing that being too skinny or too large is not the path to good health. People are becoming more aware that being fit and satisfied are the definitive "in" for beauty trends.
'Beautiful' will be a woman you just can't look away from - naturally beautiful, maybe someone you would consider to be average and not so flashy, graceful but still curvy! The style and beauty watermark of the next decade will be a natural looking, health conscious woman.
We, as a society, have acknowledged and now accept the lie of flat abs, jutting collar bones, and boney hips as the 'ideal'. When in truth it is unappealing as well as detrimental to our good health. The female body is designed to be curvy. We must welcome and embrace the natural beauty of a female's design and understand that beauty and fitness occur in all shapes and sizes.
As a society, the health and future of young women should be our priority. Fashion should be diverse, from fun and flirty to classy and sophisticated. Life is shifting as we know it and the battles seem almost continuous. We are going to see the true beauty of life very soon!
