cellulite can give your skin an orange peel look. Researchers are not 100 percent sure what causes cellulite, but it appears to start due to the effects of female hormone. In fact, nearly 98% of women develop at least a small amount of cellulite after reaching puberty.
Your body starts to change its shape due to additional fats being stored in the hips and thighs. These fats are important during pregnancy and after childbirth, but in the mean time, they may become unsightly.
The odd dimpling effect is caused by poor circulation of the lymph fluids as they gradually pass through the tissue and then start to accumulate in it. The fat cells then become compressed and start to harden into lumps. Over time, these lumps become visible through the skin.
Some experts believe that certain lifestyle factors, such as lack of exercise and taking in high levels of alcohol and coffee, increase the likelihood of developing cellulite. Bearing this in mind, the best way to treat cellulite is to live a healthy lifestyle and avoid getting it altogether.
Of course, avoiding getting cellulite isn't necessarily all that easy. For some women, developing cellulite is simply the result of genetics, a part of the aging process, or due to pregnancy. Furthermore, many of us already have it and just want to know how to get rid of it.
One way to get rid of cellulite is through exercise. Sitting for long periods of time decreases your body's circulation. In fact, the most stubborn cellulite deposits are often located right in the area where the leg meets the chair while sitting, most likely because this is the area where the circulation is being cut off.
A sluggish circulatory system makes it more difficult for the blood and the lymphatic system to send oxygen around the system and to remove toxins. Therefore, regular exercise that is brisk, yet gentle, is one way to treat cellulite. Swimming and walking are great ways to do this.
Cellulite can also be treated with skin brushing and massage. These forms of treatment help to clear and cleanse the lymphatic system by speeding up circulation. This, in turn, gets rid of cellulite that has been building up for a long time in the body cells. A wooden brush with a long handle is needed for skin brushing.
To perform skin brushing successfully, the brushing should be done in an upward direction with firm sweeping strokes. The process should begin at the soles of the feet and gradually move upward on the body. Special attention should be paid to areas that are prone to cellulite. In these areas, the brush strokes should follow a small, circular pattern. Over brushing, however, can irritate the skin and cause reddening.
Weight loss and drinking plenty of water can also help in treating cellulite. In addition, weight gain will only cause cellulite to worsen. On the other hand, weight loss in a person who is overweight can help decrease the appearance of cellulite.
In addition to these methods, there are several creams and lotions available on the market that claim to aid in the reduction of cellulite. Some of these creams can be costly and have little proven effect on the reduction of cellulite.
A more invasive means of treating cellulite is the use of surgery. Cellulite treatment surgeries, such as liposuction, are available which are capable of removing inches of collected fatty tissue from various parts of the body, including the abdomen, legs, arms, back, neck, and face.
Liposuction does not change the structure of the skin. Therefore, it does not eliminate cellulite forever. In addition, as with any surgery, liposuction has risks. Also, it will not result in the "perfect" body - and it's not cheap, either. Therefore, it is important to become well educated about cellulite treatment surgeries before plunging into this form of cellulite treatment.
The dreaded cellulite is considered very unattractive and you won't be happy to discover a new deposit on your body. Therefore, the best line of defense is prevention - drink plenty of water and exercise regularly to keep your circulation flowing.

With so much current research on skin cancer and other problems associated with overexposure to the sun, many people are still wondering how to get a great tan, while avoiding the potential side effects of sunbathing. Here are some things you can do to minimize your risks.
Always Wear sun block
Even though you are looking to get a tan, you should still wear sun block. With a sun block with a low SPF, your body can still catch some of the sun's rays, but you are less likely to get burned. Remember, a tan is essentially your body's way of protecting itself from the harmful effects of the sun. The more you can slow down this process, the less your skin will receive long-term damage from the sun.
There Is No Such Thing As A Base Tan
You should gradually build up the time you spend in the sun. Many people are tempted to intentionally burn themselves right away, believing this provides a good "base" for the tan. sunburns are a sign of skin damage and can lead to serious skin complications. Instead, you should build up your tan slowly to lessen the potential damage.
Apply Sun Block BEFORE You Go Out
You should apply your sun block to your body before you head out to the sun. Applying sun block first helps ensure that you get cover your entire body, guaranteeing that all of your skin is protected. It can take up to twenty minutes before you get its full effects. Don't forget to apply sun block to your lips! Lips can become easily burned or dried out, which is both unhealthy for your skin and unattractive.
Try to Avoid the Sun between 10 AM and 2 PM
The sun is at its strongest between 10 AM and 2 PM. Avoid sunbathing at this time. The added intensity of the sun does not improve the look of your tan. Instead, it increases your likelihood of becoming burned and, consequently, experiencing skin damage. During this time of the day, it is best to stay in a shaded area and to wear protective clothing.
Being In the Water Won't Protect You
Spending time in the water increases your chances of getting sunburned. The sun's rays reflect from the water and are basically magnified onto your body. Getting a sunburn while in the water can happen with little to know warning signs. Where a sun block, even if it is a low SPF, every time you are in water. Make sure the sun block is water resistant, as well, and reapply it as often as the product recommends. This is normally at least every 2-3 hours.
Stay Covered-Up When Not Sun Bathing
Hats and shirts provide an extra layer of protection to your skin. Be sure to wear these when not sunbathing in order to protect your skin from excessive amounts of sun. This is particularly important if you will be spending a great deal of time outdoors, such as playing sports or gardening.
Waterproof Sun Blocks Are The Best For Outdoor Work And Activities
If you do play a lot of sports or if you work outdoors and sweat a great deal, be sure to wear a sun block that is specially formulated for such activities. Waterproof sun blocks are ideal for those who are active during the day outdoors.
Almost Everybody is at Risk
People with fair skin need to be especially cautious when exposing their skin to the sun for long periods of time. The same is true for people who burn easily or who have a history of tanning poorly. People with freckles or a great number of moles should also take extra precautions when spending time in the sun. People who fit under any of these categories are at a greater risk of developing skin cancer. Similarly, children under the age of 16 and individuals with a family history of skin cancer should avoid exposing their skin to excessive amounts of sun.
Sun Blocks Are Available For All Skin Types and Sensitivities
If you have sensitive skin, make sure to purchase a sun block that will not irritate your skin. There are hypoallergenic sun block's available. If you are not sure where to look or what you need for your skin, ask the pharmacist and she will be glad to help.
A deep, brown tan can be considered very attractive and provide what appears to be a healthy glow. Be sure to follow a few simple guidelines to ensure that the glow is, indeed, healthy - and not damaged skin crying for help.

Most young women today would laugh at the trouble their mothers went through trying to straighten their hair in the 50's, 60's, and 70's. With no appliances available at the time for hair straightening, women were forced to use things like a clothing iron to get the look they desired. Although an iron is dangerous and can really damage hair, women of the past saw no other option. Today however, there are many appliances and products women with curly hair can turn to for a different look.
Getting straight hair is not always an easy task, especially if your hair is extremely curly. It is however attainable. If you have thick or long curly hair, then it could even take hours to get the look you desire. So, keep in mind that this is not a quick style change to try before a first date. Before you even pick up any straightening appliances, there are a few steps you can take to make the whole process a lot smoother.
Begin by washing and conditioning your hair. You should use a deep conditioner if you plan on straightening your curly hair. Sometimes straightening hair can leave it dry and damaged, so by deep conditioning before hand you are making sure your hair will be silky and shiny. Towel-dry your hair and apply a straightening gel. The gel will help prep your hair for the process. Allow your hair to air dry a bit and then bring out your hair dryer.
Pin the top portions of your hair up on top of your head. You will only be working on one section of your hair at a time. After pinning, use a flat paddle brush or a round brush if you prefer, to pull a small section of your hair straight while drying it with your hair dryer. Repeat this process, section by section, until all of your hair is dry. If your hair is really curly, it is likely you will experience a bit of frizz. Don't worry; this will not exist after the process is complete.
The best tool to use when trying to straighten curly hair is an appliance called a flat iron. These appliances come in several different widths. Although you may be tempted to purchase a wider flat iron, it is best to stick with the flat irons that are approximately 1 ½ inches wide. This is true even if you have really long hair. The smaller versions are easier to work with and just do a better overall job than their larger counterparts.
You can purchase a flat iron at most general merchandise stores or beauty stores. Your stylist can also provide you with information on brands they like best. You want to look for ceramic versions if you have stubborn curly hair that is difficult to straighten. You can even get a flat iron that allows you to straighten your hair while it is wet. This is something that may not work as well if you have difficult curly hair however, so beware of these combos if you think you may have tough to deal with hair.
Most good flat irons also come with different temperature settings. These settings should be detailed in a booklet that comes with your appliance. You should always use the lowest setting that works for your hair. If you have fine hair, begin with the lowest setting and work your way up in temperature until you get the results you long for. It is always better to start too low, then to start too high and singe your hair. Different types of hair respond differently to heat so you will need to go with your instinct on the initial setting.
If you are unfamiliar with flat irons then you will probably be shocked that most cost between $30 and $200 each. Don't be tempted to splurge on the most expensive flat iron, unless you have tried everything else first. Sometimes the cheaper versions work just as well. Remembering to prep your hair well before you begin straightening is the most important key to straightening success. If your hair is prepped well, then any reputable flat iron should work to get you the smooth and frizz-free look you desire.

Imagine not having to apply certain makeup again. Imagine always having eyeliner and never messing up again. Imagine perfectly shaped eyebrows, that you'll never have to pluck. How can you get all this? permanent makeup — a kind of cosmetic tattooing that can enhance and improve a lot of your physical features, on the face and elsewhere.
Sound interesting? The specialized techniques that give you permanent cosmetic make-up use terms such as micro-pigmentation, micro-pigment implantation and derma-graphics to describe the process. So what does that mean? I am trying to say that the creation of permanent cosmetic make-up involves the use of cosmetic implantation techniques to insert minute pigment implants into the dermal layer of the skin to enhance various features, though the most common permanent cosmetic make-up procedures are performed to create eyeliners, enhance eyebrows and produce full lip color.
The technician who performs the procedure will use either a tattoo or coil machine, pen or rotary machines or non-mechanized hand tools. So, if you are fed up of stringy eyebrows, smeared make-up, colorless lips and non-existent borders, or need to hide some scars, permanent cosmetic make-up is the thing for you. Would you believe that you can even tattoo or re-pigment an areola (after breast reconstruction) using permanent cosmetic make-up?
Some women say that the procedure hurts a little, but most say the pain has been no more than that you'd feel during waxing, since most technicians use topical cream anesthetics to deaden the area under the tattoo machines.
First you must find a properly qualified technician. There have been recorded cases of permanent cosmetic make-up procedures going wrong, though they are the exceptions rather than the rule. In all probability, you will meet several women who have permanent cosmetic make-up and have nothing but praise for it.
So what should you look for in a technician? First look for a website and check if it provides complete information about a particular technician. If you think you'd like to contact someone, make sure you read up about the procedure as much as you can before you get in touch with that person and find out about costs and other details. Self-informed is best informed!
Once you do that, ask prospective technicians how many procedures they have done and their training. Ask for photographic evidence of their work and base your judgment on that. Also, study the technicians to evaluate their level of concern towards your problems and see whether they answer your queries readily. Most importantly, ask detailed questions about hygiene and procedural safety. Only after you are satisfied on all counts should you ask about costs, and even here, be suspicious about rates that seem too good to be true. They probably are!

Though we don't want to admit it, we are all going to get old and have wrinkles. You can live with them or you can try to reduce there impact on you. There are many treatments now that reduce the appearance of wrinkles, or even erase them altogether. The advancements in medical science and in cosmetic science have provided us with a wide range of treatments that can help us turn back the clock and help us look younger. Some treatments can even help us look five or ten years younger.
There are many different ways to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and different ways even to erase wrinkles entirely. Face creams with chemicals and even natural remedies can help the skin regenerate itself and pull tighter to reduce the look of wrinkles. There are injections that help paralyze the muscles under the skin, making it impossible for furrows to be created. There are lasers that can remove the appearance of even the smallest of lines and wrinkles. All of these advancements make it possible for us to look younger by reducing how our wrinkles look.
Face creams were some of the first items that were created to help improve the appearance of the face. Back in Victorian times a face cream called Gowland was used to reduce the look of freckles and help the face remain beautiful. Today we have all sorts of face treatments designed to help the skin and get rid of wrinkles and fine lines. Most major cosmetic companies, like Oil of Olay, Avon, Mary Kay, L'Oreal, and others make these creams. Some of them contain parelastin, which helps the face tighten and can reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Toners, to ensure that the skin does not become loose enough to wrinkle are also used. Even natural remedies, like mashed up bananas as a face mask, can be used to reduce the look of wrinkles, helping you look younger and turn back the clock on aging.
Botox injections offer faster effects and more dramatic results than face creams and toners. In about a week after a Botox treatment, it is quite possible for nearly all of your lines, even deep furrows in your brow, to be almost completely erased. And the effects can last for four to six months. This is something that few creams can accomplish. Botox makes this possible by interfering with messages from the neurological system that tell muscles to contract. Basically, this is a toxin that effectively causes muscle paralysis in the face. This means that the skin over the face is smoothed out and then remains smooth, and can help you actually look five or even ten years younger, depending on how many wrinkles time placed there in the first place.
Another way to get rid of wrinkles without having to inject a known toxin into your face is to have the wrinkles removed by laser. A newly developed laser, known as the Fraxel laser, can help erase wrinkles in a procedure that is every bit as non-invasive as a Botox injection. The Fraxel laser works by using a great deal of concentrated heat to burn off skin cells around the wrinkles. This does cause some minimal damage, but rarely to the area outside the wrinkles. And then, as the damage heals over with fresh, younger skin, the wrinkles slowly disappear. It can take a couple of treatments for it to take effect, but it is still a rather effective treatment for getting rid of wrinkles. Additionally, the Fraxel laser can remove other signs of aging, including age spots and sun spots. This is an advantage that the laser has over creams and Botox. While these other two products can get rid of wrinkles, they cannot get rid of other signs of aging.
No matter what treatment you use, however, it is not permanent. Even plastic surgery is not a permanent solution. The facelift eventually sags, the wrinkles become too deep for the cream, the Botox wears off, the laser has to be used again in a few months to kill the dead skin around newly developed wrinkles. So even though the clock can be turned back on aging, it is not permanent.

One of the single most dramatic actions you can take to change your look is to color your hair. Your hair color is one of the foundations for your overall look, and so it becomes the stage for your makeup and fashion choices. There are limitless color options out there, so how you to choose the shade of hair color that is right for you?
In order to choose a good hair color for you, you must first understand how hair color actually works. Whether you are going to a salon to have the coloring done, or doing it at home with a kit, understand that your new hair color will be a mixture of your natural color and the color shade you add. For example, if you have medium brown hair, and you choose a medium red color to add, your new color will be auburn not a medium red.
Therefore, when working on a home color, do not look at the picture on the front of the box and imagine that is the color your hair will be after use. Instead, flip the package over and look at the shade selector on the back. Find your "starting color" and the chart should be able to show you the approximate color you will get if you use the color you are holding. If you are still unable to find the color you want, mix shades to create a custom color. If you are going to mix, however, make sure the colors are from the same product line and only two shades either lighter or darker than each other.
Secondly, you need to be aware of the depths and tones, and before you choose the hair color that is right for you, find the right ones. Depths are, for example, light brown, medium brown, or dark brown. The depth descriptors on the packages should help you choose the depth you want. As for tones, all colors are available in warm tones, such as red and gold, and cool tones, such as ash and neutral shades. The depth and tone of the hair color will add dimension to your hair color.
As for the selection of the actual hair color that is right for you, keep in mind your skin tones and eye color. Hair color that complements your natural skin tones will help you to look your best. If you have an olive, reddish brown, light or rosy skin tone and eyes that are hazel, blue-gray, green, or blue, for example, choose cool colors. For you, hair colors of complimentary tone will generally contain the word "neutral" or "ash in the description.
You will want a warmer depth to your hair color if you have medium golden, golden brown or darker hair. In addition, warmer colors will compliment you if you have eyes that are deep brown, brown, or hazel. You will want to check the hair color packages you are going to use for words like "warm" or "reddish" on the descriptors.
Perhaps you do not wish to make a dramatic change. If that is the case, there are still rules for making your selections. For instance, if you are coloring merely to highlight your natural hair color, choose the shade you can find that is closest to your natural hair color. If you want to subtly lighten your hair, look for a shade that is approximately two levels lighter than your natural color, which will provide subtle and natural change. If you want to cover gray, consider, once again, a shade close to your own natural hair color. Your other option is to use a color that is one shade lighter than your hair to turn the gray into highlights.
Hair coloring can be valuable and fun. Use it to hide gray, give yourself a makeover, or just go with a whole new look. Be sure, though, before making the plunge, to find the proper color for you. Use your skin tone, natural hair color, and eyes to make a decision that will have you looking your very best. With proper care and color selection, you can create a new look that is natural and complimentary.

ewww, wrap myself in seaweed? Are you kidding? Nope. If you are looking for a great way to unwind at the spa, you should consider one. Seaweed wraps are more popular than ever and after you experience one, you will understand why. Most seaweed wraps are conducted at spas and massage centers, however if you are up for it, you can also try one at home. Whether you venture to the spa for your wrap or choose to enjoy it in your own home, your results will be fantastic.
You are probably curious why seaweed is used for a wrap procedure. Seaweeds actually provide more than half of the Earth's oxygen. They are one of the primary life sources on the planet. The cool thing about seaweed is that it absorbs all of the great things from the ocean naturally, through osmosis, copper, iron, potassium, zinc, and iodine. It also absorbs many vitamins.
It is no wonder that seaweed can do so much for our bodies, as our own body is extremely similar in composition to seawater. With our bodies being made of mostly water, seaweed is a welcoming product for our skin. Most wraps use seaweed algae from the Brittany Coast of France. Spas will order the substance from France to use in their centers. Companies who sell seaweed used for wraps are able to maintain the natural elements of the seaweed. These elements help the wrap do its job.
Most women try seaweed wraps for their relaxation aspects. Seaweed wraps are much more useful than simply for relaxation however. A wrap can stimulate your circulation, making your blood flow better. It can also increase your metabolism, allowing you to have more energy and to lose weight more easily.
The wrap works by absorbing the vitamins and minerals that the seaweed contains naturally. The minerals absorbed are taken in by the skin and help break up fatty deposits in your body. It will make your skin look and feel supple and smooth.
What can you expect when you go to a spa for a seaweed wrap? Most spas will lead you to a private room. The lights may be dimmed and soft music may be playing. The lighting and music will help you relax and enjoy your treatment. Your wrap specialist will ask you to either remove your clothing, or put on a disposable bikini. After you undress, the specialist will smooth seaweed paste all over the area to be treated. When the paste is applied, the specialist will then wrap the area with warm thermal sheets. These sheets are also very relaxing. You will then stay covered for up to 45 minutes. The specialist will remove the sheets and then you will rinse the seaweed off the treated areas.
After having a seaweed wrap at a spa or after doing it yourself at home, there are a few things you should remember. Since the wrap is removing toxins from your skin, you should be sure to drink extra water for 24 hours after your wrap. Be sure to drink about 4-6 extra glasses to get your body back on track. Not only will drinking more hydrate your body, but it will also allow your skin to stay smooth and supple longer.
If you would rather not try a seaweed wrap on your entire body, you can try localized treatment areas. If you are only concerned with your legs, you can get a seaweed wrap for your legs alone. You can also do a seaweed face wrap. Any part of your body can be used in the treatment process. These treatments will improve the firmness in your skin as well as help you with other problems. For the best results, salon specialists suggest getting a seaweed wrap once a week for at least six to eight weeks. This can be a bit costly, but may be worth it.

It's great to experiment when it comes to beauty, fashion, and style but some things are better tried at home, where you can do a safe test run, or taken care of by an expert.
There are a number of unwritten guidelines that dictate what is considered acceptable and what is not. It is easy to unknowingly break them without trying hard. Some of the more common beauty and style mistakes are easy to make and also easy to avoid women.
Yes, shapely, contoured eyebrows are fabulous and can add a lot of sophistication to your look. Scraggly or invisible eyebrows, on the other hand, are just that - scraggly or invisible. For the $12 or less it can cost to have your brows professionally waxed, it's worth the money to have someone else shape your brows. You should have them done professionally at least once, so that you know what they should look like. After that first time, it's easy to take care of the strays as they grow back in.
If you insist on doing it yourself, be careful not to remove too much hair. Selective plucking may be your best option. Pluck just after you've showered so hair pops out more easily. Brush your brows into place, and then using a good set of tweezers, gently remove hair from under the arch of your eyebrow and outside the natural brow line. Do a little at a time, stepping back periodically to inspect your work from a distance.
A deep, sun-drenched tan looks great but too much time in the sun can be bad for you skin and for your health. Tanning beds have only marginal benefits in terms of reducing our exposure to harmful UV rays, so many women turn to tanning lotions to achieve that sun-bronzed look.
Be aware! Not all tanning and bronzing lotions are created equal. Some will give your skin a sickly orange tinge while others are difficult to apply and end up streaky. Do a small test patch in a normally covered area to find out how the lotion will look on your skin. This takes a little extra time, but the effort is worth it. You want a natural-looking tan, not an application of finger paint.
In addition to choosing the wrong kind of tanning product, many women (and men) forget to apply it all over. The backs of the legs are difficult to reach, but it is essential to have even coverage over all visible parts of your body. This includes your hands. You should wear gloves while applying bronzer to the rest of your body to avoid over-colorization, but when you're finished, don't forget your hands or you'll end up with a reverse farmer's tan!
Nasty-looking feet can absolutely ruin a great pair of sandals. Don't put a lot of effort into shaping and painting your toenails without taking a good look and feel of your heels, too. We can see our toes, so they often hog the attention we give our feet, but others can see our heels and bear witness to the neglect we may inflict. Avoid this beauty faux-pas by beginning a daily regimen of care long before you intend to show off your lovely toes. By using a foot file or rough scrub brush every day in the shower, you will soon see softer heels. Dry your feet well to prevent any bacterial growth between your toes, and apply a moisturizing AHA or BHA foot lotion. Your feet will thank you if you apply more lotion again before going to sleep.
If your heels or other rough spots like the often-calloused area by your little toe are too out of control, you should get a professional pedicure to smooth away the imperfections.
Not all colors were meant to be worn by all people. All those lovely lipstick shades might look great in the store, but not so good on you. Choose neutral colors for daytime use and slightly bolder colors for evening. Remember that colors change under different light, so what looks good in the cosmetics section of the department store, might not look the same under your office lights. Consult a cosmetician (it's usually free) to find out what your best colors are and build from there.

Everyone knows that the "basic black dress" can be worn for a variety of occasions, formal and semi-formal. Sometimes even casual. likewise, mascara is always there, always in style. A black dress is timeless in its fashion, and mascara, too, is never out of date and, just as that black dress is versatile, matching everything and infinitely malleable to the situation in a variety of styles, mascara, too offers a great deal of versatility and options.
The reason that mascara is so necessary is because it enhances the eyes. Many people agree that the eyes are the most attractive feature, and mascara's sole purpose is to call attention to the eyes and accent them, framing them with long, thick lashes. Mascara works by coating the lashes with a cosmetic that causes them to curl up and away from the eyes. This leaves the eye looking more open and wider. Additionally, the coating also creates a thickness on the lashes. This serves to better frame the eye and draw attention to this "window."
Even if you do not have time to meticulously apply eye shadow, you can help enhance your eyes by quickly applying mascara. Eye shadow is not even strictly necessary when one has mascara on. It is a quick beauty tip that can help the eye look more beautiful without having to "over dress" it with shadow. Just like the basic black dress, it adds a simple and almost natural elegance that can actually be marred by greater flamboyance.
Another thing that is great about mascara is its adaptability. You can choose different types of mascara depending on your mood or your needs. There are different styles of mascara that you can choose, depending upon how your natural lashes look. Just as the cut of a dress can help enhance how you look, choosing lengthening mascara or thickening mascara can help you fit your choice to the needs of your eyes. It is possible to do the basic black dress one better when you use mascara to dress your eyes. Mascara comes in a variety of shades and colors so that you can get a more natural look by wearing something closer to your natural hair color, or create dramatic effect by wearing blue or purple mascara that can serve to further enhance the look of your eyes.
Mascara comes in two main varieties: regular and waterproof. Each of these has its own benefits. Regular mascara is easier to remove, and it can be less irritating to the eyes. Waterproof mascara, on the other hand, is advantageous because it allows you to look great at the beach or at a pool party. It stays on much longer, and it is resistant to smearing and streaking, even when crying (It's perfect for the Oscars.). If you plan to be working out or being near water, waterproof mascara can be a great choice.
But, just like anything close to the eye, it is important to use mascara with caution. Carefully apply it, taking care to avoid getting it in your eyes. You should never apply mascara while in a moving vehicle, whether it is a train or a car, and you definitely should not attempt its application while you are driving. Suddenly stops, turns, or jolts can result in serious eye injury. There are also health concerns when using mascara. You should never use someone else's mascara. The germs that others have and live with are different from the ones that your body is used to. The eyes are very sensitive and can easily be infected by foreign organisms. Most mascara is only good for use for about three months. After that it tends to be contaminated and dry. Try to buy a new tube every three months, and avoid moistening the mascara with your saliva or with tap water. Again, this can cause eye infection.
Using mascara properly as a member of your beauty repertoire can help you feel better about yourself and easily enhance your most attractive feature: you eyes. The fact that it can be used along to affect a significant change in your look is enough to secure mascara as the "basic black dress" of cosmetics.
Choosing the right face mask for you can be difficult. What is in the mask? Will you have an allergic reaction to something in it? Which one will work best for my face and skin type. The answer is to not choose one at all. Give yourself a quick and simple do it yourself beauty treatment by making a facemask at home right in your kitchen. It will be natural and you will know exactly what you are putting on and into your skin.
Though you can certainly put together your own facemask based on your knowledge of your own skin care, there are some ideas out there you can use. Whether you use the ideas here or make up your own, you will be sure you are avoiding additives and preservatives. If you like, you can even strive for a 100 percent organic facial mask.
The first will work best for dry skin. Take 2 ounces of fresh avocado, an ounce of orange juice, a teaspoon of acacia honey, and a teaspoon of molasses and 5 drops of chamomile essential oil and put them in a blender for blending or a large bowl if you prefer to mash them by hand. If, for some reason, the mixture comes out too thick, go ahead and add another ounce or so of orange juice. Once you have your paste together, use your fingers to spread the mixture over your entire face and neck. Leave the mask on for at least 30 minutes, but longer would be better. A warm flannel is best to rinse the mask off your face and will help exfoliate and clean your face as you wash off the mask. If there is some left over, it can be kept in the refrigerator for a day or two. You will find your face moisturized and feeling healthy after this homemade facial mask.
If you have sensitive skin this homemade honey face mask will likely work best for you. Start off by warming a small pot or crock of honey in a double boiler. Periodically check on your hand to make sure the honey gets warm, but it not hot. Once it is at a comfortable temperature, rub the honey onto your entire face generously. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with warm, then cool water. You will feel refreshed and your face will look healthy after this simple home facial treatment.
Oily skin can be a problem with facial masks, but a homemade egg white mask will work great for your oily skin. Whisk one egg white in a bowl until the peaks are stiff. Add 6 drops of witch hazel and 6 drops of lemon juice to the whites. Then, gently put the mixture on your face but be sure to keep it out of your eyes. Leave it on your face for about 15 minutes before rinsing well with warm water. This will help with your oily skin without drying out your face.
If you have sensitive, sunburned, or damaged skin you may want to try a butter face mask. You will need a tablespoon of unsalted butter that you have softened, and a large mashed up strawberry. If you have normal to dry skin use a 1 inch slice of cucumber pushed through a sieve, use a tablespoon of lemon juice for oily skin, or try adding 1 egg yolk if you have very dry skin. In a bowl, beat the butter and your chosen ingredient. Apply the mask as soon as it is combined and leave it on your face for 10 to 15 minutes. With a wet, warm washcloth, remove the mask. With butter being a great source of vitamin A, this mask will really help your sunburned or damaged skin.
